Approach
Downloadable
Project Scope
The project will apply a collaborative approach
to capture ideas and priorities from AwwaRF members. This approach
gathers a variety of perspectives, improves quality, and builds
consensus. The project includes three primary elements:
- White Paper: This document captures
existing material and cases and develops new case studies. This
paper is the main reference for the collaborative workshop.
- Workshop: The workshop is the
opportunity for utility representatives to share insight and work
together to establish priorities for future research. Candidate
research initiatives will be outlined and prioritized in a Road
map.
- Assessment: As part of the road
map, several utility asset management programs will be assessed
in detail. These findings will further strengthen the road map.
Results and Benefits
The roadmap of water and wastewater utility asset management research
will identify and prioritize information gaps and recommend and describe
specific research projects to fill those gaps. Descriptions of research
projects include project objective, background, research approach,
estimated project schedule and budget.
The Final Report will be immediately useful to utilities; provide
guidance for future research; and be the foundation to align with
the USEPA, water and wastewater utilities, industry associations,
and non-governmental research associations such as AwwaRF, WERF,
and GWRC.
The Final Report is a product of AwwaRF and can be procured through
their web site.
